Pres. Carlos P. Garcia - A former Holy Child Academy
Miss Intramurals won Miss Pitogo Islands 2017. Ma. Dessa Wahing who represented
Barangay Poblacion Pitogo, 15 years old, and who stood 5'5, edged out beauties
from other barangays of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia and bagged the title Miss Pitogo
Islands 2017 during the annual ceremony held at Looc Sambagan Basketball Court,
8 p. m., Sunday, August 6, 2017 despite not being the heavy favorite of
the night. Pure perseverance and sheer determination she said were her weapons
during the pageant night. She managed to convince the judges why should
she be the next Miss Pitogo Islands. Ma. Dessa also won Best in
Production Number.
Care Jerlie Mae Abad got the 1st Runner-up spot and
also won Best in Playsuit Award. Heavy favorite Isabel Carillas who represented
Sitio Sambagan landed as the 2nd Runner-up and won numerous awards namely Best
in Casual Wear, Best in Gown, Best in Talent and People's Choice Award. Other
candidates who won awards were Mary Cresil Boyboy for Miss Repartee and Darling
of the Crowd and Niña Abad for Face of the Night.
The judges were Miss Pitogo Islands 2016 Michaella
Cutanda, Master Mariner Roland Cuysona, Master Teacher Florena A. Remate, Gaus
High School TIC Bobby Montes, Barangay Captain Delia Perez, Miss Pitogo Islands
Organization Chairman Edrian Abad and NAM COLLEGE Founder Dr. Nemesia
Melendres.
The event was hosted by Miss Pitogo Islands 2015 Roxan
Abad, Mr. Argiemar Cuysona and Miss Norma Abad.
The event's major sponsors were Hon. Kag. Cosme Ando
and Dr. Nemesia A. Melendres.
Ma. Dessa Wahing is the 4th queen of Miss
Pitogo Islands.
