A 14-year old stunner who stood 5’5 won Miss Pitogo Islands 2016 last night, August 9. Michaela Cutanda from Barangay Saguise edged out beauties from different parts of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia and emerged as the new Miss Pitogo Islands for the third edition of the pageant. The show was again staged at the basketball court of Looc Sambagan, San Jose.
Cutanda who was surprised by her remarkable feat wowed the audiences with her wit in answering the questions that solidified her place for the top plum. She said if she will win Miss Pitogo Islands 2016, she will be a good role model by showing that she is a good follower of the law. She cited one example and that was about proper garbage disposal. She also reiterated that planting trees can also do good for the whole Pitogo Islands.
Michaela also won other awards namely, Best in Athletic Wear, Best in Talent, and Miss MLhuiller. Her court included Chell Ann Lingo (1st runner-up) and Wayne Gocotano (2nd runner-up). Other set of minor awards were Best in Casual Wear won by Chell Ann Lingo, Best in Gown won by Chell Ann Lingo, Best in Production Number won by Wayne Gocotano, Darling of the Crowd won by Rosalyn Bulabos, People’s Choice Award won by Mary Cresil Boyboy and Face of the Night won by Chell Ann Lingo. The new Miss Pitogo Islands and her court also received their corresponding certificates and prize consisting of beauty products and cash.
During each break, the audiences were entertained by the resident lipsync queen Miss Gondina Bonivie and other dancers namely Cristy Bulabos and SG Group.
The pageant was attended and judged by the following people: Dr. Nemesia A. Melendres, Mr. Bobby Montes, Mrs. Jennylou Cuysona, Miss Jesah Intan, Miss Analyn Palatan, and Mrs. Delia A. Perez.
The major sponsor of the event was Mrs. Leah Daitol and once again it was hosted and choreographed by the chairman of Miss Pitogo Islands Organization Mr. Edrian B. Abad. Miss Norma Abad was the latter’s co-host.
